Hello, HASL! {Student-Led Interviews and Inquiry}

 

It was a pleasure to be with the Hawai’i Association of School Librarians again this year and to be with friendly, welcoming people who allowed me to test out one of this week’s AHA moments: that one of the best ways we can engage younger learners in inquiry may be to veer away from traditional library resources and look to expert interviews. When they interview adults (or kids, for that matter), the material is naturally modulated to their developmental level, allowing them to engage more authentically with the content.
